At AI Chat 18+, we're committed to compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing AI companion platforms. This page outlines the measures we've implemented to comply with various legal requirements, including age verification, user safety, and content moderation for our AI Chat 18+ app.

AI Chat 18+ is an 18+ platforms only. We do not knowingly accept minors to the service. Our apps are listed as 18+ on the Apple App Store, and users must accept our terms and confirm they are 18+ before accessing the service. We actively block content that can be harmful for minors to ensure a safe environment for our adult users.

California Senate Bill 243 (SB 243)

Effective January 1, 2026, California's SB 243 establishes requirements for AI companion chatbot operators. AI Chat 18+ complies through the following measures:

AI Disclosure

We clearly notify all users that they are interacting with an AI chatbot, not a human. This disclosure appears on every chat screen and in our Terms of Service.

Suicide Prevention & Self-Harm Protocols

We use real-time AI moderation filters to detect suicidal ideation and self-harm content. When detected:

• Messages are immediately blocked
• Users are notified and referred to crisis service providers
• Our system prohibits the chatbot from generating responses about suicidal ideation or actions

Content Restrictions for Minors

We maintain strict measures to prevent the chatbot from generating sexually explicit content for minors and prohibit any encouragement of such conduct. Our moderation system automatically blocks all content involving sexual content with minors.

Age Verification

We comply with age verification requirements in California, Florida, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions:

• Our apps are listed as 18+ on the Apple App Store with appropriate age ratings
• All users must accept our Terms of Service and confirm they are 18+ before accessing the service
• Users verify their age by clicking a confirmation button acknowledging they are of legal adult age
• We actively block content that can be harmful for minors
• We encourage parents to use device-level parental controls
• Report suspected minor access at team@aichatapps.co

Content Moderation

We use OpenAI's moderation endpoint to detect harmful content in real-time. Our system automatically detects and blocks:

• Self-harm & suicide content (with crisis service referrals)
• Sexual content with minors (CSAM)
• Graphic violence
• Illicit activities
• Harassment & hate speech
